On Monday, Nov. 18, 43 Westwood Students auditioned for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 26 Full Orchestra. Out of the students who auditioned, 16 made the orchestra.
“I have been practicing since the etudes came out in July,” Noah Revelett ‘26 said. “I am very happy I made it and looking forward to the experience.”
At the audition, students won seven of the 14 instruments. This means these students are first chairs, and won the room out of all other auditionees. In addition, Westwood took all of the spots in the orchestra for various instruments, including piccolo, flute, clarinet, and tuba.
“It’s a good feeling to be part of such a high quality band program,” Revelett said.
The Region 26 Full Orchestra clinic and concert will occur on Dec. 6-7.
