Theatre Students Perform One Act Play

On Thursday, March 20, theatre students will be performing And a Nightingale Sang in the cafeteria during the beginnings of 5th, 6th, and 8th block. The play will also be presented at Hendrickson High School at 7 p.m. in competition against Stony Point, Hendrickson, and Round Rock. Due to time constraints, the play was shortened to about 40 minutes

And a Nightingale Sang is set in Newcastle, a town in England, during World War II. The production portrays Helen Scott and her family as they cope with life during wartime. And a Nightingale Sang was turned into a movie as well as a TV series.

“It’s a really, really great play,” sophomore and actress Kylie Shannon said. “The thing I enjoy about And a Nightingale Sang is that despite all the hardships they go through, they honestly love each other unconditionally.”
