A new trend has piqued the interest of the Internet recently. Many celebrities have started to rent out their cribs on Airbnb, a site that lets customers rent out a place when they go to an event or on vacation.

These estates are open to the public – provided you can pay their fee, of course – but celebrities have also been renting their homes to each other; Amy Schumer rented Jake Gyllenhaal’s house and even ate his cake! This good-humored, inter-celebrity fun has garnered much media attention lately, which has revived public interest in the practice. Many fans have begun to spend massive amounts of money for their shot at similar in-joke material.

At the moment there are 13 available “famous” homes for rent on the website. Of course the price is a little crazy, but the idea of saying you stayed in Kevin Jonas’s, Charlie Chaplin’s, or even Obama’s house would be awesome. Other celebrities have been quick to join the trend. Mariah Carey recently listed her house for rent on Airbnb for the low, low price of 10 grand a night, which just goes to show that the celebrity house rental concept is starting to flourish.
