Westwood’s Warriors (0-10) lost to the Cedar Ridge Raiders (9-1) in an emotional final game of the season on Nov 6.

During the first quarter, the Raiders were quick to put points on the board, with three touchdowns—at 10:09, 5:43, and 0:51—bringing the score to 21-0 at the end of the first quarter—by taking advantage of the Warrior’s constant turnovers on downs.

Throughout the second quarter, it was much of the same. The Warriors were finally able to put points on the board, via an 18 yard pass to Prince Ugwu ’17, putting the score at 21-7. Despite this sudden glimmer of hope, the Raiders scored another three touchdowns—with 10:36, 6:15, and 0:13 left in the quarter—putting the score to 42-7 at the end of the half.

Instead of performing Let Me Fall, the show that got the Westwood Warrior Marching Band band 9th place at the Bands of America competition, both SunDancer and Band seniors were recognized for their hard work they have put in throughout their four years at Westwood—SunDancers danced for the last time; whereas Band seniors were recognized individually on the field.

During the third quarter, celebrations of the senior’s achievements continued, as well as the announcement of the winners of the Project Graduation raffle. The Warriors held the Raiders out of the end zone, with the score remaining at 42-7 at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter was not much different from the third, save for a 21 yard touchdown pass to Rutger Worden ’16 with 4:50 left in the game.

Neither team scored any more points in the rest of the game, putting the final score at 42-14.

This game concluded this year’s football season. The Warriors were 0-10 this year, not winning a single game.
