In the few short months we have had in 2016, the world has said goodbye to many famous figures. Although they have died, their legacies will remain in our hearts forever.

  • Prince, the music legend, is remembered for timeless songs such as “Purple Rain” and “When Doves Cry.” He also released 39 studio albums, won seven Grammys, and an Academy Award.
  • Doris Roberts won an Emmy for her best known role as Marie Barone on the CBS american sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond”.
  • Sir Alan Rickman, best known for his astounding role in the “Harry Potter” film series as Professor Severus Snape.
  • Merle Haggard, whose hit songs include “Mama Tried” and “Okie From Muskogee,” was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1994.
  • Nancy Reagan, former First Lady and widow of the late Ronald Reagan, 40th President.
  • David Bowie, the British rock legend, gave us great music such as “Space Oddity” and “Ziggy Stardust,” released 27 studio albums, nine live albums, won one grammy and four Brit Awards.
  • Sir George Martin, referred to as the “Fifth Beatle” by many including Paul McCartney, was the creative mind behind the Beatles.
  • Robert Stigwood, the Producer of “Grease” and “Saturday Night Fever,” and the manager of the Bees Gees and Cream.
  • Monte Irvin, played seven seasons with the New York Giants, one season with the Cubs, and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1973.
  • Rene Angelil, who was Celine Dion’s husband and her manager.
  • Glenn Frey, a founding member and guitarist of the Eagles.
