Girls’ Golf Team Finds Success in First Spring Tournament
The Lady Warrior golf team played in their first spring tournament on Feb. 2 at Hancock Park in Lampasas. They were up against teams all around the district, including Cedar Ridge, Leander, Liberty Hill, Round Rock, and Cedar Park high schools.
A normal tournament that is eighteen holes lasts roughly around four hours, but this lasted six. Despite the cold and windy weather, the Lady Warriors came out on top and won first place as a team. Not only did the team place first, but four out of the five players received medals in the top ten as individuals. These players include Gabbi Harris ‘17, Malvika Patil ‘19, Sanika Pelnekar ‘19, and Olivia Bowen ‘20.
“The team as a whole has improved quite a bit this year,” team captain Gabbi Harris ‘17 said.
