The JV Orange volleyball team fought hard against the Cedar Ridge Raiders for all three sets Friday, Sept. 15 but unfortunately came to an undesired end when the Raiders took the victory with a 1-2 score.

The start of a rocky first set soon turned into a hard-won and well deserved victory for the Lady Warriors. When the set was almost over with the Lady Warriors considerably behind in points, determination kept them pushing forward harder and the end of the set came after Abby Gregorczyk ‘21 secured the final point, finishing the first set 27-25. The other two sets came with less of a celebration with 21-25 and 20-25 losses for the second and third set.

I think that they can definitely beat that team,” Head JV Volleyball Coach Brissa Ochoa said. “It is a matter of us eliminating our errors and earning our points. I am really proud of them for fighting back during the first game when Cedar Ridge had game point and we fought our way back 5 points to win the set.”

Despite the unfortunate outcome to a long and difficult game, the Lady Warriors are looking forward to more wins throughout the remainder of their season.

“They are capable of so much, and I look forward to seeing their success this year,” Coach Ochoa said.
