Debaters participated in the national Hockaday School tournament in Dallas, Texas from Friday, Nov. 8 to Saturday, Nov. 9. Being a national tournament, debaters vied for bids for the chance to compete in the national Tournament of Champions (TOC). This also meant that Hockaday was a very unique opportunity for the students who attended it and introduced some debaters to a new experience.

“For me, it was special because it was my first national tournament,” Nathan Fang ‘22 said. “[National tournaments are important] to first test yourself against the national circuit, as well as hitting harder competition and improving yourself.”
