Standing together before their dance began, God’s Menu performers pose, setting the tone of the dance. K-pop Club members rehearsed for six weeks for their second to last performance, the Spring Showcase, offering ample opportunities to perfect their choreography. “I was excited to dance with complex group formations and movements,” dancer Ninju Prem ’25 said.

Taking the stage for the final time this year, K-pop club presented their spring showcase, performing Drama by æspa, God’s Menu by Stray Kids, and Born to Be by ITZY during Fun Friday Flex on April 5. They learned and practiced these three dances in a span of six weeks.

“I really like dancing in general, but I rarely get to do group choreography like this,” God’s Menu performer Ninju Prem ‘25 said. “I was excited to dance with complex group formations and movements.”

God’s Menu’s performers faced many unexpected challenges before the show; however, they persisted by putting in more hours and attending more practices to ensure audiences got the best performance.

“A number of unexpected things happened leading up to the show,” Prem said. “One of the members for God’s Menu ended up injuring her knee and missed a lot of practices. In order to accommodate that, we added in a ton of morning practices to get back on track.”

Adding to the list of obstacles during the show, the music for Drama by æspa cut out unexpectedly, but members kept dancing.

“It was funny to me because I had predicted the moment earlier in the morning when I was thinking about the performance,” Social Media Coordinator and Drama performer Anandi Raj ‘27. “I reacted with a little laugh, and thankfully the show continued as normal without further hiccups.”

I think the K-pop community as a whole has a very uplifting influence on its dancers.

Members of the K-pop Club enjoyed the experience of learning and practicing dances with a community of other dancers.

“I enjoy being around other dancers the most,” Monica Bao ’24 said. “I think the K-pop community as a whole has a very uplifting influence on its dancers.”
