RRISD Wears Maroon on Tuesday to Support Uvalde
On Tuesday, Sept. 6th, RRISD is encouraging the community to wear maroon to “show our support for the [Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District] students, staff, families and entire community,” a tweet by RRISD said.
UCISD will begin their school year this Tuesday as the community continues to mourn the deaths of the 21 victims of the Robb Elementary shooting in late May, which is the third-deadliest school shooting in U.S. history after the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007 and the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in 2012.
Many other districts, including Austin ISD and San Antonio’s NEISD are encouraging their communities to wear maroon in support of UCISD.
