Thomas Burke ‘25 goes up for a layup with Round Rock defense chasing close behind. The Warriors were able to make a fast break and get the ball to Burke to make the layup.

The varsity boys’ basketball team played two games this past weekend. The first game took place on Friday, Feb. 3. They faced off against McNeil, but the teams played at Stony Point due to power outages at both schools. Then, the team turned around and faced off against Vista Ridge, this time at home. This game was on Saturday, Feb. 4, and both games had almost no spectators in attendance.

The Warriors dominated during the first game, coming out hot, shooting a high percentage from the three-point line, and the team ran the court very well. They scored a lot of points from fast-break layups and threes.

Cayden Branch ‘23 had an explosive first half, scoring 21 points. He hit five three-pointers, leading the team in both categories. The final score was 53-38.

Then, the team faced off on Saturday against Vista Ridge. The Warriors played a really solid all-around game and ended up winning 69-54. The seniors stepped up and led the team to success.

The team plays next on Friday, Feb. 10, at home against Manor.
