The band attended their annual Symphonic Camp on Saturday, Feb. 28. The camp ended with a concert that evening conducted by various clinicians.

On Saturday, Feb. 25, the band rehearsed throughout the day at Symphonic Camp to prepare for a concert that evening. Various clinicians were brought in to teach and conduct each band. The day ended with a concert at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) featuring the pieces band students were perfecting throughout the day.

Each band had their own clinician to conduct their performance. Jack Wilds was the conductor for concert band, Garth Gunderson conducted the symphonic band, wind symphony was conducted by Dimitrios Icossipentarhos, and Dr. Kenneth Ozzello led the wind ensemble.

“Our clinician was the actual composer of our song so we got to hear how he wanted it to be played and we got a new form of teaching,” Aloki Lal ‘25 said. “Having different people come in allows a new experience and it allows the teacher to see what works, what doesn’t work.”

The next band performance will be the Full Orchestra Pre UIL performance on Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. at the PAC.
