It’s that time of year again – the sweet smell of caramel delights and thin mints linger in the air as the Girl Scouts sell their infamous, delicious cookies. Although the cookies are selling for six dollars a box this year which is insane, many people are still willing to buy them. Now that the selling season just ended, cookie fans experienced the rise of newer flavors and the fall of others. Read on to view the cookie ranking from another successful year for the Girl Scouts!

S TIER – I’d rob a Girl Scout for these

Lemonades

Lemonades are the pinnacle of Girl Scout cookies. There’s a reason why these are at the top of the ranking – they’re just the best tasting out of them all. The tangy flavor of the icing is certainly better than some of the other cookies, and the lemon shaped cookie itself has a good texture which nicely blends with the icing. The Lemonades aren’t dry, and the icing isn’t deathly sweet, making it the perfect cookie.

A TIER – Love them!

Caramel DeLites

Ah yes, the ol’ reliable caramel delights. The texture of the cookie is a favorite of many, combined with sweet caramel and chocolate, and blends very nicely, adding contrast to the flavor. The coconut flakes on top are a nice touch and add additional texture. These cookies are just like Goldilocks – there’s not too much of anything and not too little, they’re just right.

Thin Mints

A bit controversial but I stand by the ranking. When one thinks of Girl Scout cookies, they usually picture thin mints – they’re the default Girl Scout cookie. Now don’t get me wrong, they are an excellent flavor. The combination of mint and chocolate for many desserts is pleasing, and Girl Scout cookies are no exception. However, like when you do something in excess like watching too much of show, then you get a little sick of it – that’s the case for me with Thin Mints.

Tagalongs

Rich and sumptuous, these cookies elevate a classic flavor profile – chocolate and peanut butter. This cookie is a study in contrast: contrast between sweet and salty, and contrast between crunchy and smooth. Tagalongs are a delicious cookie and aren’t reinventing the wheel, but have perfected it.

Adventurefuls

Texture is important with almost any food; that’s where Adventurefuls come in. These cookies are a relatively new and unknown flavor only added to the Girl Scout Cookie collection in 2022, making them somewhat underrated. The crispy brownie on the outside adds a satisfying crunch and the plentiful caramel center is what makes this cookie so good. The flavors of each Adventureful part come together in perfect harmony.

B TIER -I mean, it’s alright

Toast-yays!

This cookie tastes very similar to the Scooby-Snacks cookies. Maybe it tastes a bit better, but it’s another generic cracker-based cookie that isn’t very original. The icing doesn’t add too much to the cookie despite the description and there is nothing really special about them. However Toast-yays are a pretty solid choice if your favorite flavor is out, I’ll give them that.

C TIER –  💀💀💀💀

Shortbread

These cookies are offensive in how unoffensive they are. Devoid of a true flavor and wildly dry, shortbread cookies barely merit having an opinion. I don’t know what mood you have to be in to voluntarily choose these cookies as opposed to their much more interesting counterparts, but it’s not a mood I’ve ever found myself in.

Do-si-dos

These cookies are fine. The Do-si-dos effectively deliver on their promise of being a peanut butter cookie with a sweet filling. However, I think they pale compared to the other, much more interesting and delicious peanut butter counterpart– Tag-alongs! Tag-alongs’ addition of chocolate diversifies the flavor profile to create a far more enjoyable experience than the more boring Do-si-dos.

Gluten Free

Some gluten-free desserts do taste very good, but these cookies aren’t one of them. They’re a generic chocolate chip cookie, which without comparing to any other flavors, tastes alright but with flavor titans like Lemonades and Caramel Delites, they’re just mediocre.

I would rob a girl scout as she was handing cookies to the Pope for those shortbread cookies. And the lemonades should be the lowest tier.

Nope! Do-si-dos are my fave! The Thin Mints aren’t as good as they were when I sold Girl Scout cookies. They were made like Tagalongs with a minty creme layer instead of peanut butter. I miss the classic Thin Mints. They were the best. New Ines not so much. Samoas have shrinked in size over the years and don’t have the cookie to topping ratio as they had before and don’t taste the same.

I just wish all areas sold all the flavors because I absolutely love the Lemonades and the girl scouts around here try to past the Lemon Ups as the same cookie and they certainly are not.

Tagalong should be top tier and Shortbreads are severely underrated. I used to think like you until my father popped on in the microwave and put peanut butter on it.. OMG changed my life lol

The s’mores cookies are my fav. I eat the whole package in one setting. Those are my top “would rob a girl scout” tier cookies and theyre not even on your list. Samoas, tag alongs and the lemonade cookies are all tied for 2nd with me.

Noooooo do-so-does are my very favorite!!! Love the oatmeal in the cookie and far better than tag a longs!! My husband got the latter by mistake last year and boy was I MAD!!! Adventurefuls would be next with the very chocolatey cookie and little bit of caramel. I do really like the lemonades and the trefoils and thin mints as well. I haven’t found anything else on the market that compares to thin mints. As for the rest, I’ll pass

As a Cookie Leader, I have CASES of Do-si’s in my house that we just cannot sell. And I don’t get why. I agree that they’re better than Tags. (More creamy and peanut butter-y)

The Tagalongs have always been my favorite, but last year they were horrible. Did they change the recipe? Change it back! Thin Mints were my 2nd favorites, they’re still good. I like the Do-si-do’s too.

I personally do not understand the hype about thin mints. Mint belongs in toothpaste and gum, not cookies but to each their own I guess. Tagalongs are my favorite so I would switch those with the Lemonades. Never tried the toast ones, we don’t have those in my area but they’re cute.

If it was anything else like those Grasshoppers that Keebler makes, I would agree with you, but Thin Mints are one of those few cases that make it work. It’s like the mint is just there to give a refreshing coolness to the cookie!

For thin mints it depends on the baker you get them from. Little brownie bakers are much less minty than ABC baker.

I rather agree about the gluten free ones. I like the toffee tasting from Little Brownie bakery better than the caramel chocolate chip from ABC bakery. They improve if you dr them up. I dip the toffee ones into melted vanilla or butterscotch chips and the chocolate caramel ones into dark chocolate. Let melted coating harden. Eat! Yummy!
