Leaping into the air, Boys Basketball Captain Indy McBrearty ’25 fights with a Maverick for control of the ball. The team’s intense offensive play and impressive defense helped them secure a sweeping win.
Popping into a layup, Luke Carpenter ’26 adds two points to the Warriors’s scoreboard. Mid-game, the team’s continuous scoring widened their lead against the Mavericks.
As the rest of the team watches, Dillon Garza ’25 scores a late-game basket. Garza’s fervent offense advantaged the team throughout the game. “I was tired [towards the end because] my leg hurt, [but] we did good. I feel like if you’re not hurt you can play, and I [played]. Nothing should be able to stop you,” Garza said.
Dribbling the ball, John Chuo ’26 evaluates who to pass to. Chuo’s assists and the team’s chemistry aided in accelerating their dominance on the court.
At the referee’s whistle, Sumner Holland ’26 passes the ball to John McNair ’26. The duo’s dynamic passes in every quarter ensured they kept the ball away from the Mavericks.
Class of 2026Howdy!! I’m excited to be on student press this year and can’t wait to create for the Horizon and Heritage. In my free time, you can find me playing video games, playing piano, baking, painting, and cracking bad jokes.
