The McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago will feature the Westwood SunDancers this year for the first time. The parade is from 8 to 11 a.m. CST on Thanksgiving Day and will be on Channel 21 (WGN) for Time Warner Cable subscribers. The SunDancers will be dancing as toy soldiers with the dancing group Coast2Coast, and have been training for the past week in the cafeteria every morning and for multiple afternoons. The SunDancers will leave for Chicago on Nov. 23 and come back home on Nov. 27 after performing. Make sure to tune in to watch and support Westwood’s own SunDancers at the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

About the Contributor
Simone Heim, News Editor
Hi, my name is Simone Heim. I work for the Westwood Horizon online news as the Head News Editor. This is my third year in Student Press, as well as my fourth year in the journalism program. I also participate in the Westwood theater program as an actor and occasionally with tech. Outside of school I work as an assistant coach at a parkour gym teaching fight choreography, and over the summer I’m a counselor at a few summer camps. Some of my pastimes include obsessively listening to musical soundtracks, telling my friends to ‘fight me’, crying over television shows, and drinking hot cocoa.
