Principal Laurelyn Arterbury to Leave Westwood
After four years of dedication to Westwood, Principal Mrs. Laurelyn Arterbury will be moving to Leander ISD to serve as the new Executive Director of College and Career Pathways effective July 2016.
“I know that this decision is best for me both professionally and personally, as I will now have the opportunity to work in the same school district where my children attend school,” Mrs. Arterbury said.
Mrs. Arterbury first announced this change in person at a faculty meeting before sending out a formal email.
“I’m crying tears of happiness,” Mrs. Arterbury said. “It’s all good.”
Although Mrs. Arterbury is excited to advance her professional career, she will miss the Westwood environment.
“The level of professionalism at Westwood is amazing,” Mrs. Arterbury said. “Our students are great. I don’t think I’ll ever get to work with a better more professional group of people.”
