“There are certain stereotypes associated with Asians that I used to be forced into. I would be told to study hard, get good grades in school and on my standardized tests, and get into a good college because after I do all these things, I would be set in life. However, I didn’t want to just be someone who got good grades. I wanted to step out of the boundaries and immerse myself into other various activities and events people don’t associate with the Asian stereotype.”
