JV Orange Baseball Edges Out Pflugerville 2-0
On Tuesday, April 18, the JV Orange baseball team was triumphant against the Pflugerville Panthers with a score of 2-0.
The Warriors were successful at holding the Panthers due to strategic pitching from Mason Flood ‘19 and catching by Andy Smith ‘19. Both teams were unable to score until the bottom of the fifth inning. The Warriors made it to base and with the hits by Nathan Potter ‘20 and Ian Keas ‘19, the team was able to score two runs.
As the game progressed, both teams were unable to score again. The Warriors quickly got the Panthers out with good catches and fast ball movement between bases. However, the Warriors were also unable to score due to outs off their caught hits. The JV team kept the lead and won the game.
“The game went well, but we could have hit better and put the ball in play more,” Smith said. “I think we will do well against them when we play again.”
The JV Orange team will take on the Panthers again on Friday, April 20 at Pflugerville. Go Wood.

![Powering through a fastball, Ardavan Jahangiri '28 swings with all his might. Jahangiri ultimately didn't achieve much success as a batter, but was part of crucial plays in the infield. “[We’ve] improved astronomically, it’s absurd,” Jahangiri said. “[Our] technique is on point, we know where the ball is going, we’re not being reactive, we’re being active.”](https://westwoodhorizon.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/IMG_1781-1-600x400.jpg)
