Students Win 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
Six Westwood students were recently recognized by the 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. Pooja Enagala ’19, Jenny Zhang ’19, and Haley Betron ’20, as winners, received Certificates of Achievement, while Aarushi Machavarapu ’19, Nandita Panda ’22, and Anirudh Gupta ’22, as runner-ups, received Certificates of Merit.
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards recognize middle and high school students who make a difference in their community through volunteering. Recipients of Certificates of Achievements will advance to the next round of judging, in which judges will name some of the students State Honorees in February. Ultimately, State Honorees will be awarded $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington D.C. There, 10 of the State Honorees will be named National Honorees and receive $5,000, as well as an additional $5,000 grant from the Prudential Foundation to donate to a non-profit of the student’s choice.
Westwood congratulates these students recognized by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, and wishes them the best in the next round of judging.
