[GALLERY]: Spanish Honor Society Holds Meeting in Collaboration with Amigos International

  • Texas Outreach Coordinator Emma Reagan describes her experience as a student who participated in the Amigos Program. Amigos, which is an outreach program that allows students the opportunity to practice their Spanish and volunteer in South America, provides different opportunities for participants to pursue, including programs centered on food justice and ocean conservation. Reagan took part in two trips as a high school student living in Texas.

  • Spanish Honor Society President Joanna Lin ’23 tries a pineapple flavored popsicle, or paleta. Club members were encouraged to try the cold treat, which originates from Mexico, before the presentation began. “[Amigos] did [a presentation for Spanish Honor Society] pre [Covid-19], but we wanted to bring it back again because I think more members are able to go out of the country [now],” Lin said. “The different programs that they offer [are] really interesting.”
