Heading into their fast-approaching season, the JV white boys’ soccer team faced off against the Rouse Raiders at the Warrior Bowl and snagged a win of 2-0.

Starting the game off strong, the Warriors displayed good connections from the defense to the midfielders and from the midfielders to the forwards allowing for several scoring opportunities.

In the first ten minutes of the game, the Warriors managed to get the ball into the back of the Raider’s net through multiple straightforward and precise passes and by creating space to play the ball through the Raider’s defense. For the rest of the half, the Warriors pressed hard and fast on their opponents’ defense, but the Raiders put up a good fight by blocking shots and anticipating the ball. Still, the Warriors managed to close the first half up by one.

Coming into the second half, the Warriors were up by one but hungry for more. They exhibited good movement on and off the ball and created many opportunities for their forwards and midfielders by making runs and drawing the Raider’s defense out of the back. Keeping the ball predominantly in the Raider’s half, the Warriors unleashed a flurry of shots on the Raider’s goalkeeper, with all stopped but one.

The Warriors closed off the game strong with an overall score of 2-0 and will face off with the Raiders again in their upcoming district season. Their next game will take place at 4:30 P.M. at the Warrior Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
