On Tuesday, Oct. 24, JV White volleyball lost in an intense game against Manor High School losing the game through three sets 2-1. The Warriors walked onto the court feeling bittersweet about the game to come, considering it was their last game of the season.

They started the first set with lots of passion, and determination to win. It was a close start until the Warriors took the lead, however Manor caught back up in the middle of the second half. Although going back and forth, the Warriors pushed through and won the first set 25-22.

“We had such a good first set so I felt really hopeful coming into the second set,” Simone Riha ’26 said. “I was also a little nervous though, [The first set] was so close that it easily could’ve been anyone’s game and I felt like we definitely needed to work harder if we wanted to win the second set.”

The Warriors came out of a huddle ready for their second set, and looking for a win. However, Manor was ready, jumping back up with a lead in the beginning of the second set. The Warriors quickly came back and the set was neck and neck. Both teams fought hard but the Warriors fell short 25-19, bringing both teams into a final set to declare the winner.

“I think we all tried our best through the whole game and really pushed to play to the best of our abilities,” Harlow Hernandez ’27 said.

Going into the third set, Manor held an early lead, with the Lady Warriors catching back up quickly with multiple aces and kills. It was a super close set with both teams working together and pushing hard even into overtime. However, despite their best efforts, the Warriors suffered their final loss of the season. The final score of the third set was 26-24, with fighting until the very end.

The Lady Warriors have had a successful year and become closer as teammates on the court and friends off the court. The Warriors will return next August, and now look ahead to their fall 2024 season.
