After months of hard practice, Westwood Band members completed their Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-Region Band auditions on Saturday, Dec. 9. 125 members auditioned, with 65 making a region band and 30 advancing to the TMEA Area D auditions.
Setting a new school record, members have been practicing their music meticulously since late July.
“It was a lot of work, but it was fun,” Aarav Singh ‘26 said. “The music is challenging, and you’re going up against the best players in the region — but the experience is great.”
TMEA Area D qualifiers will next compete on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024. More information about the band can be found here.
