Notes of community resonated strongly on Friday, Jan. 26, as orchestra hosted their annual board game social after school. Members collected in the orchestra room to socialize among Just Dance, Super Mario Kart, and board games.

Organized by orchestra officers, this year’s board game social drew inspiration from years past by including fan-favorite games and friendly competition, but also took on a more profound meaning.

“Orchestra is all about making music together, and you can’t have that without being a community,” Orchestra Advertising Committee officer Eera Gour-Gupta ‘25 said. “So, we really have to foster that bond within each orchestra and each level because it matters a lot.”

Hosting frequent socials, the program places a heavy emphasis on camaraderie-building beyond rehearsals.

“Our members seem to really enjoy [the socials],”  Gour-Gupta said. “They’re a great way to come and connect with other people outside of music.”
