SkillsUSA and PTSA Host 5th Annual Clothes Closet

Between Sept. 18 and Oct. 10, SkillsUSA and the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) are accepting donations of new underwear and ankle socks. Sizes can vary in range from 4 to adult for elementary and middle schoolers. Clothing can be dropped off at the main office or room C1306 (Ms. Tarver). This is the fifth year SkillsUSA and the PTSA have hosted Clothes Closet.

It is a heated race between McNeil to see which school can reach 800 articles of clothing first. Westwood has beaten McNeil 5 years in a row. The Principal of the losing school must wear the opposing team’s jersey at the Westwood-McNeil football game on Oct. 10. Bring in your donations to help support this cause and extend our winning streak!

UT representative Patrick Patterson describes the importance of teaching kids to be academically honest from an early age. He was one of three UT representatives speaking at the academic integrity seminar on Thursday, March 22. What you have to do as a community is get together with the administration, Patterson said. Create your own honor code. Involve as many folks and kids and adults, as many as possible. Create that honor code and stick to it.
