Red Cross Club Comes Together at First Meeting of Year

Westwood’s Red Cross Club held their first general meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 31 in Coach Meyer’s room. Red Cross Club officers introduced themselves to those who attended the meeting before starting with a presentation explaining what Westwood Red Cross is about and how to become a member of the club.

The club will reflect the American Red Cross Mission, which states, “The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.”

“It was really exciting to see potential and returning members at the interest meeting! The participants were really attentive while we were speaking which was fulfilling to see. It reinforced the reason why the other officers and I are putting in a lot of effort to make sure our club’s events are exciting for our members,” club president Lokavya Marreddy ‘23 says. “We hope that the members are eager to participate in the events we propose at our next meeting. We also hope to obtain more newly registered members to welcome into the club.”

Red Cross Club meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of each month at 8:20 a.m. in room D2310. For more information about Red Cross Club, visit their website.
