Adorning Hawaiian shirts, the Student Council officers pose in the F-hall during Beach Day. StuCo officers planned and executed Howdy Week dress-up days, which encouraged school spirit, and contained a variety of themes, making the celebration accessible to all.

From Monday, Aug. 28 to Friday, Sept. 1 Howdy Week took place. Arranged by Student Council, Howdy Week was a week full of dress-up days with specific daily themes, allowing students to showcase their school spirit.

“Putting it together was mostly just creating a poster for it and just getting the word out to the students via Instagram and Email,” StuCo Executive President Maya Granoff ‘24 said. “One of our student council members, Shrishti Mahajan, made a bunch of TikToks and it helped spread the word.”

Students kicked off Monday, Aug. 28th in vibrant clothes for Barbie Day, where students adorned pink clothing, and recreated outfits from the Barbie movie. Following Barbie Day, on Tuesday, students donned Hawaiian shirts and beach attire to celebrate Beach Day.

“[For] Beach Day, I wore the one Hawaiian shirt that I have,” Saachi Coulekar ‘24. “It has all these corgis on it, and I might as well fit the theme, but also look super cool while doing it.”

Wednesday, Aug. 30 was Adam Sandler Day, followed by Pajama Thursday on Aug. 31. Lastly, Friday, Sept. 1 was Orange Day to show school pride.

“The Pride and Patriotism committee came up with ideas that we thought were fun for the student body” Granoff said. “[For example], we definitely wanted to do Barbie because it was a really big hit.”
