The Lady Warriors gather together during their 1 minute time out in the first set. Communication and teamwork were a big focus in practice to start the season. “No [I don’t have one favorite Volleyball memory] because all of them are my favorite” Kariza Guerra ’26 said.

The JV orange volleyball team matched up against St. Stephen’s High School on Tuesday Sept. 5 at the Warrior’s home court. Although it was a quick game with the Lady Warriors sweeping the Spartans 2-0, they fought hard, treating it as if the score was tied.

The Lady Warriors ended the first set with a score of 25-7, maintaining a comfortable lead throughout,, and putting on a strong offensive display that the whole team rallied behind.

“I think the most rewarding part [of being a Lady Warrior] is being able to celebrate, win or lose,” Hallie White ‘26 said.

In the second set the Lady Warriors kept up the same commanding pace they had in the first set. There was an immense amount of teamwork and many of the scoring attempts made by the Spartans were thwarted by Kariza Guerra ‘25 who rallied the Lady Warriors to a strong defensive performance. In addition to strong defense, the Lady Warriors stayed consistent on offense, outdoing the Spartans, winning the second set with a score of 25-11, and ending the game.

“The most memorable part [of this game] was when at the end of the first set we got together and we just kind of bonded because we [had] finally gotten in sync with each other,” Guerra said. “We were just talking about what we did right and what we need to fix.”
