Setting a volleyball, Mia Massey ’25 plays Queen of the Court with Beach Volleyball Club. Since it was founded, Beach Volleyball Club has met consistently on Wednesdays after school.

On Wednesday, Feb. 29, the Beach Volleyball Club hosted their ninth practice of the year.

“The thing I love most about [the club] is [everyone in Beach Volleyball], and that you don’t always have to be super athletic or skilled to succeed. Just making smart choices can help you to win,” member Phoebe Wooster ‘24 said. “As for our club, I just enjoy how all the different sports and Westwood students, in general, come together to have fun.”

Playing Queens of the Court, a game showcased in most practices, members took their opportunities to serve, pass, and set as many balls as possible. Since Beach Volleyball Club was founded, officers and members alike have encouraged new members to join, as the more people come to these practices, the more members enjoy meetings.

“I love playing with everyone who comes to practice, but I especially enjoy getting to spend time with people I haven’t always gotten to play with,” Wooster said.

The beach volleyball club is not only a place to practice the sport, it’s an opportunity to meet new people and try new skills.

“Queens is probably the best thing to do since it is a quick on-and-off game that just flows pretty easy,” member Ava Moncada ‘25 said.

The club meets every Wednesday at 4:30 and almost always plays Queen of the Court.

“I like playing at [Sand Volleyball Club] because it brings together people who you may not usually be surrounded by,” Moncada said. “Sand really opens people up to one another and is a great way to meet new people and friends.”

Class of 2026 For me, I enjoy hobbies like volleyball and art, I'm also apart of Young Life which I love. Some interests I have are movies and shopping at The Domain. Lastly, my favorite thing about coming into press is that it's chill and the people are nice too.
