Decorating diligently, Haruna Kubo ’26 channels her creativity into a personalized card. Kubo’s main goal of these cards was to spread kindness to children living with rare or undiagnosed diseases. Once finished crafting the cards, The Psychology Club plans to deliver them to the children.

Psychology Club collaborated with Cheyanna’s Champion 4 Children (CC4C) to create personalized Valentine’s Day cards for the children navigating life with rare or undiagnosed diseases on Thursday, Dec. 11, after school in Sponsor Roxana Garcia’s room.
CC4C is a faith-based nonprofit organization based in Texas that provides financial assistance to children with rare or undiagnosed diseases. The club spread joy by designing cards for the children supported by CC4C. The officers’ goal was to help the kids feel remembered and supported.
“This event connects with our Psychology’s Club mission because it focuses on caring for others and supporting emotional well being,” Psychology Club Outreach Coordinator Haruna Kubo ‘26 said. “Making Valentine’s cards for ill children allows us to spread kindness, which can help brighten someone’s day during a hard time.”
Giving the letters a thoughtful touch, the CC4C provided a list of children with their likes and hobbies so the members could tailor their cards to the children’s interests. The members’ materials such as gel pens, markers, colored paper, and an array of stickers. Members designed the cards to reflect the children’s interests while adding their own creative twist.
“We were designing them according to the individual’s interests according to the information posted on their website,” Psychology Club Vice President Deetyaa Shah ‘27 said. “We were focused on making them look professional, but fun for the age the kids were at.”
The room was filled with light-hearted laughter and conversation, all while diligently crafting meaningful cards. The cheerful mood was captured in each individual card. Many of the members added thoughtful handwritten messages to connect with each child individually.
“My favorite part was customizing each card so every child could feel special and have a good Valentine’s Day,” Kubo said.
Psychology Club aimed to create meaningful experiences for the children, continuing their club’s mission of creating a positive impact for their community.
“I hope these cards help brighten the children’s day and let them know they have the community’s support,” Shah said.
