Class of 2025

I have always loved writing, listening, and telling stories. I am eagerly looking forward to being the sports editor this school year, and I can’t wait to see what it has in store for me. Some of my favorite activities are creating and adventuring, whether they be through paper or in the middle of the woods. I spend most of my days talking to friends or taking hikes… if the weather permits it. I greatly anticipate what is to come in this new year, and I hope to see some of you in class!

Fighting through major setbacks throughout the season, the Warriors ended it all 2-8 after a powerful win over Vista Ridge. "Every week we trained for war, this year we definitely had to fight to win." Coach Dezmun Williams said.

Laying out the Stony Point quarterback on Friday, Oct. 25, Kye Bridges '26 and the Westwood defensive line break through the offensive line, forcing a punt and ending the Tigers' drive at the end of the second quarter. Down by 11 at halftime, the Warriors looked to end Stony Point's hopes of a win and take the lead. "We were moving the ball pretty well on offense [going into halftime]" Colten Case '26 said. "We just couldn't keep it going after that."

The warriors main focus against the Chaparrals was their three rules on engagement. "Rule number one any time you even think there's a change of possession we need to get back up on defense." Keeping the Dragons at bay, Cole Osborn '25 and a host of Warriors throw up their hands to keep their victory in reach. This was the Warriors' second game against Round Rock, so this meant a lot towards the motivation and weight of the game. "This was a big game for everyone," Ben Meijers said. "We lost to Round Rock last time, so this match is more important than the win."

The Warriors went on to throw a touchdown pass on their opening play instantly giving the Warriors the upper hand. "Each week we come out on the field to do what we practiced during the week" Coach Anthony Wood said.

Defending against an assault against the Westlake Chaparrals Captain Cole Osborn '25 and Ethan Clark '26 dive in front of the goal to keep the Chaparrals from gaining a lead on the Warriors. The Warriors fought hard but ended up losing the final game of the Ridgewood Rumble tournament to Westlake. "Our teams are the opposite and I am really proud we did so well" Captain Ben Meijers '25 said. "We have a lot of team play and a heavy focus on passing while they have a couple really stand out players who carry the game for them."

As the back up running back the year before, Sutton looked to propel his offense forward. "You can't be reliant upon one player like we were last year," Coach Anthony Wood said. "We have been getting this group to where it is not just one guy, we've got six weapons ready to give their all."
