‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival Series Confirmed

Since the last episode of the comedy/drama TV series Gilmore Girls ended in May 2007, viewers were left questioning the final ending of the show as it ended openly and was somewhat of a letdown for fans. Now, nearly nine years later, many Gilmore Girls fans are delighted to hear that Netflix is finally making new episodes of the beloved show.

If you’ve never seen the show, it revolves around single mother, Lorelai Gilmore, and teen daughter, Rory Gilmore, and their best friend-like relationship. The show is set in Stars Hollow, a fictional town in Connecticut and follows the two through relationships, breakups,  dealing with Lorelai’s parents, Rory’s school drama, and everything inbetween.

After months of keeping the Gilmore Girls revival series in the shadows, Netflix has finally released the official title of the new episodes: Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. The series will contain four episodes; each 90 minutes long and will pertain to each of the four seasons.

Starting with winter, the show is said to take place in present day, eight years after where season seven left off. The show will contain most of the original cast as well as some new faces. GIlmore Girls creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, said since the beginning, she has known exactly how she wanted the show to end right down to the last four words. Since the original series ended somewhat abruptly, with these revival episodes, Sherman-Palladino will finally get a chance to end the show the way she always envisioned.

Where Sherman-Palladino leads, fans will follow.
